If your child faces a dental emergency, give us a call immediately. If you need urgent treatment after hours, you can call our emergency number. We are always here to assist when your child’s dental health is at risk.

What constitutes a dental emergency?
A dental emergency can happen any time, anywhere, to anyone. An emergency can arise because there was an accident or there is an underlying health issue. Some of the most common dental emergencies include:
- Bitten lip or tongue
- Excessive bleeding
- Broken, chipped, or fractured tooth
- Knocked-out tooth
- Toothache
- Broken jaw
Any emergency can be scary for your child and for you. The important thing to remember is to stay as calm as possible, and call us for advice on what to do next.
Avoiding Injury
Your first line of defense against a dental emergency is regular brushing, flossing, and checkups at our office. You can also help your child avoid a dental emergency by childproofing your house, not letting them chew on ice, popcorn kernels, or other hard foods, always using a car seat when appropriate and requiring a seatbelt when they are older. If your child plays contact sports, make sure they always wear a mouthguard. Ask us about creating a custom-fitted mouthguard for your child.
